How to Purchase Google Android Nexus One if You Live Outside the US, UK, HK, or Singapore

Google launched its Android phone, the Nexus One (N1), on January 5th,2010. Personally I’m very interest to have this Google Super Phone.

Compare to Motorola DROID, Nexus One is faster. Although there is no keyboard but you can do a lot of activity by voice. You can send sms, search the web, use Google maps/streetview, update Facebook status by talking to the Nexus One.

You can enjoy how interesting the Nexus One on Youtube channel.

At this time Nexus One only available to purchase from http://www.google.com/phone for you who live in the US, UK, Hong Kong or Singapore.

If you’re not access the web page from those countries, Google will says “Sorry, the Nexus One phone is not available in your country”.

Is it possible to purchase Google Android Nexus One if you live outside the US, UK, HK, or Singapore ?

Off course, it’s only need software to hide your own IP address. My IP address is now detected as 64.62.196.33. It’s in United States, Illinois, Chicago. You can check IP location on http://www.ip2location.com/free.asp

Here’s the easy guide how to purchase the Nexus One to your own address even if you live outside the US, UK, HK, or Singapore

1.Downloading and install the free Hotspot Shield software (Windows & Mac only). By installing this you protect your location and IP address so that Google’s web store won’t block you out from the ordering process. When installed and activated, proceed to the next step.

2.Sign up for a US based shipping address at MyUSABox.com. In practice, this is free as the US $5 they charge for registering will be credited to you when you use the service for the first time. They ship products worldwide and even repackage the boxes for an additional fee to help minimize custom declarations in your local country.

Your Address will be similar to:
Joe Black
47-47 36th Street
Suite # 1001 (the suite number will be unique for you)
Long Island City, NY 11101

You can use this address to receive mail, packages and purchased items. Learn more about MyUSABox services.

3.Sign up for a Google Checkout account. If you already have a Google / Gmail account, you can add that easily through your Google account settings.Note that you can use any international shipping address and credit card for this purpose, it does not have to be the MyUSABox address you just signed up for.

4.Go to http://www.google.com/phone .You will be taken to the main page for the phone where you can order yours online. Here’s the screenshot

5.Click on the icon that says “Get Your Phone”. Please make sure you option for the SIM free phone at $529 + sales tax (a New York based shipping address will add $46.95 sales tax to your order, totalling at $575.95). Also, make sure you enter the MyUSABox shipping address and Google Account billing address to the order.

The process is quite simple and very easy to understand. Also you can order engraving on the N1’s back cover with two line of words

6.Once a shipment arrives at your address, you will receive notification via e-mail or you can logon to your account and see what has arrived and also see a picture of it. Select your shipment(s) in your mailbox address to be shipped to you online anytime of the day.

7.Log in to MyUSABox from the ‘My Account’ section, you have full access to your shipments and forward the Nexus One to your home address.

Enjoy your Nexus One !
